With college football bowl season in full swing, Oklahoma is getting geared up for the Armed Forces Bowl. Literally!

The Sooners recently gifted their players with some new swag for their trip to Texas later this week. They will be arriving in style.

Every year, college football teams that participate in a bowl game are presented with various gift bags that are typically provided by the sponsors. The can include anything from Fossil watches, to a Playstation 5, to a 3D-printed action figure. That is NOT what this is!

In addition to what players get from the game itself, the school hooks them up with a whole new wardrobe for travel, wearing around the hotel, and every event during the week. Jordan Brand is the official partner of the Oklahoma athletic department so the gear is pretty sweet.

Easton Swetnam is an equipment manager for the Sooners. He offered a glimpse at some of the new threads, which includes a new pair of retro Dunks, a nike sweatsuit and a Mamba hoodie in addition to all of the OU-specific clothes.

Junior linebacker Jaren Kanak also offered some insight into the player haul. They got all kinds of shirts, hoodies and sweat pants, a new pair of Jordans and a bag to carry it all. In addition to the clothes, Oklahoma gave every player a set of Normatec recovery boots, which cost approximately $700 each.

And it doesn’t stop there! They also received a sword, yes, a sword, and a pair of Tecova boots.

Needless to say, the Sooners are going to be swagged out upon arrival to Fort Worth for the Armed Forces Bowl and that doesn’t include the gifts they will receive from the game itself. However, they are going to have to leave their new swords at home. Those definitely won’t make it through TSA.
