Olivia Dunne decided to return to LSU for a fifth season of college gymnastics. It does not sound like academics are a primary focus of her last year in Baton Rouge.
The 22-year-old was asked about her course load at an event in New Orleans related to the Super Bowl. She took an extremely long time with her answers to fairly simple questions.
Admittedly, I do not know anything about Adam Glyn or his brand. His line of questioning with Livvy Dunne was rather inflammatory and likely on purpose. He hammered her about school right out of the gate and essentially played dumb to continue further with his agenda. It was an uncomfortable exchange and the reigning national champion did not seem pleased until he changed the subject.
With that being said, Glyn got exactly what he wanted in terms of a viral interview. Dunne appeared to be completely uninterested in anything related to school. She struggled to discuss academics.
Dunne is currently enrolled in two technology management classes “to be eligible to compete” and will “just take as many credits to be eligible until she is finished competing.” Her goal is to complete her Master’s degree within the year.
Although Dunne was able to answer Glyn’s questions, she could not appear less interested. And it took her a very long time to remember the name of her classes. Perhaps it was nerves. Perhaps it was a lack of care.
Either way, it was abundantly clear that Olivia Dunne is only enrolled in class so that she can compete.
To be completely fair, the fifth-year gymnast already received an undergraduate degree.
Olivia Dunne has more than eight million followers on TikTok. Academics are what allowed her to return to LSU as an athlete so the technology management courses are probably more of a requirement than a choice. Can you blame her?
