The food situation at the 2024 Paris Olympics has been criticized by athletes almost from the start. Whether for quality or quantity, the cries for improvement have been loud.

In some instances, personal chefs can be called to provide large outside catering orders. For many, though, they’re stuck with what they’ve got!

Last week, it was reported that the food situation had already turned into a “disaster” due to a shortage of staple items.

For those who have been able to find meals, the product has been lacking. LSU gymnast Aleah Finnegan blasted the cooking for a lack of seasoning, a feeling that’s been shared by many at the Games.

To deal with the bland food and lack of certain items, a pair of American swimmers got creative!

Abbey Weitzeil posted a video to her TikTok account showing a homemade smorgasbord with random items thrown together from different shops. She couldn’t bring herself to visit the dining hall another day. Instead, she improvised!

You’ve got to work with what you’ve got!

Weitzeil is far from the only American athlete to blast the Olympic Village food situation. Raven Saunders, who might be spoiled by the cuisine in Charleston, and Rachel Glenn have also been critical.

They expected better! It’s been a letdown to this point.

The US isn’t the only country bashing the food situation at the Olympic Village. Haitian competitor Emelia Chatfield gave the cafeteria a 0/10 in her most recent analysis, which was maybe the most scathing vlog to date!

No one has been impressed!

If there is one plus, it’s apparently the dessert. Chocolate muffins seem to be the talk of the village, and other delicious pastry treats have been complimented by Olympic superstars.

The sweets won’t completely save the Paris Games from the negative feedback, though. So far, the event has failed to live up to what we saw last time around in Tokyo.
