Hilarious Blinding Hat Tans Overshadow Scottie Scheffler’s Gold Medal Celebration At Olympics

Scottie Scheffler went into the Olympics with one singular goal: to have fun. Not only did the American golf superstar have a blast, he will leave Paris with a gold medal around his neck.

However, his celebration was overshadowed by a hilarious hat tan.

Scheffler pulled of a stunning come-from-behind performance to clinch Olympic gold in France. The World No. 1 was four shots behind Xander Schauffele and Jon Rahm ahead of Sunday’s final round at Le Golf National.

Both of the initial 54-hole leaders completely choked down the stretch. Schauffele finished the day at two-over and Rahm finished at only one-under. Their struggles opened up the board for other people to rise.

Meanwhile, Scheffler tore up the back nine with six birdies and shot a course-record of nine-under 62 to win. U-S-A! U-S-A!

England’s Tommy Fleetwood took silver. Hideki Matsuyama earned the bronze for Japan.

It meant a lot for Scheffler to bring home the gold for his country.

It’s pretty high up there. Anytime you’re able to represent your country is pretty special. This was a fun week and it was great representing the USA, and I’m proud to be going home with a medal.

He was overcome with emotion when the Star Spangled Banner started to play during the medal ceremony.

His wife, Meredith, and (fairly) newborn child were also in Paris to celebrate the victory, which was pretty special.

As amazing as it was, the gravity of the moment was undermined by Scheffler’s sun exposure. The hat that rarely leaves his cranium creates a very uneven tan.

Scottie Scheffler was not the only one! Fleetwood and Matsuyama are in the same boat.

A photo of the three medalists walking together to the podium really puts the contrast in perspective. Their foreheads are blinding.

The victory photo has the same problem. You might want to put on sunglasses before looking above the three golfers’ eyes!

This is obviously pretty common in golf, where hats and visors are pretty standard. They’re in the sun for at least four hours a day from Thursday to Sunday so it’s going to happen. But the photos from the Olympics are just too good not to share a laugh!
