German Surfers Won’t Stop Wreaking Havoc On Other Countries By Forcing Them To Party At Olympics

As the Olympics get underway in Paris, a group of 28 athletes who qualified for the surfing competition are living it up in Tahiti. Team Germany in particular is really getting after it!

The Germans are bringing the vibes to the first-ever floating Olympic Village, even if it’s at the expense of some of the other teams’ tranqulity.

Believe it or not, there is a pretty large surfing community in France and the waves are known to be on par with rest of the world during specific portions of the year. The World Surf League Championship Tour stops annually in Seignosse, Capbreton and Hossegor at the end of September. However, the swells are not up to standard during the summer so Olympic organizers had to out-source this year’s competition to iconic Tahitian wave, Teahupo’o, despite a major environmental controversy.

Tahiti is a French territory, if you didn’t put the connection together!

In lieu of the traditional Olympic Village in the City of Light, surfers are staying on a cruise ship anchored in the South Pacific ocean with breath-taking views. They might have it better than the more “traditional” athletes, many of who are sleeping on cardboard beds without air conditioning.

There is only one potential issue with the accommodations for the surfing competition— the Germans.

Tim Elter and Camilla Kemp turned the Olympics boat into a party boat! They are having more fun than anybody else on board.

In an effort to get other countries in on the action, Elter put his speaker on a leash, swings it over the side of the boat and lowers it down to other rooms. It forces everybody to embrace the energy whether they like it or not!

Although some people on the boat are not down with the shenanigans, Team New Zealand matched the energy.

The Germans and Kiwis teamed up to turn up!

Tim Elter and Camilla Kemp might be in Tahiti while the rest of Team Germany is in France, but they don’t seem to mind. Surfers at the Olympics get to shred one of the best waves in the world on one of the world’s most beautiful islands while jamming out on a cruise ship. Pretty sweet gig!
