Ahead of the storm, TikToker Tampa Terrence interviewed a one-legged man on his boat who is refusing to leave an evacuation zone because he believes it’s God’s plan for him to stay during the storm.
“I put my faith in God more than I put my faith in man. God told me to come out here and get a boat. I came out here and got a boat and everything he’s been telling me the last few days is that I’m doing the right thing. He’s got my back, I’m in good shape, I ain’t sweating it.”
“We’re setup and we know what we’re doing, as long as the water keeps rising, we’ll be fine.”

The police eventually came in an attempt to get the man to leave but he still refused.
@terrenceconcannon He will be evacuated tomorrow 🙏
Just last night, Tampa Mayor Jane Castor warned people that they would certainly die if they decided to stay behind in one of the evacuation zones.
“I can say this without any dramatization whatsoever: If you choose to stay in one of those evacuation areas, you are going to die.”
