Oscar De La Hoya Tried To Fight Bill Haney For Mocking Ryan Garcia Ahead Of Historic Times Square Fight

DAZN

There’s no love lost between Ryan Garcia and the Haney family. Last year, Garcia handily defeated Devin Haney, but the fight was later ruled a no-contest due to Garcia testing positive for the banned substance Ostarine.

Nearly a year later, Garcia and Haney will fight against separate opponents on the same fight card but there’s still bad blood between the two.

On Wednesday during The Ring’s Fatal Fury press conference, things got heated when Bill Haney said he felt that Garcia looked smaller now than he did when he fought his son last year due to not using PEDs this time around.

De La Hoya, who promotes Garcia under his Golden Boy promotions, took exception to Haney’s comments and had to be held back by security.

Garcia and Haney will fight if they win their fights on Friday, May 2nd on DAZN PPV which will take place in Times Square, New York.
