Many football fans out there probably watched Hard Knocks featuring the New York Jets on HBO when it aired back during training camp.

During one of the episodes, Oz the Mentalist was brought in as a guest speaker to talk to the team, and perform some of his magical mind-blowing motivation.

What most of those fans probably forgot about that scene (at least until Sunday night) was that Oz Pearlman asked then-Jets wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr. to predict who he thought he would be playing against in the Super Bowl and the final score.

Hardman predicted the Jets would beat … wait for it … the 49ers 31 to 21 to win the Super Bowl.

Of course, that didn’t happen. The New York Jets didn’t make the Super Bowl.

But Mecole Hardman, the player that Oz the Mentalist randomly chose out of all the Jets players, did make the Super Bowl, with the Kansas City Chiefs. In fact, he was the only player in that entire room that ended up actually playing in the Super Bowl.

Not only that, Hardman scored the winning touchdown to beat … wait for it … the San Francisco 49ers.

Oz Pearlman really is a wizard. (That, or he knew the NFL script all along.)

“This is the wrong timeline and dimension,” another fan wrote. “It’s going to have adverse consequences.”

“They didn’t realize Mecole was the key to the SB win,” read another comment, referring to the Jets.

Making the prediction even more interesting is that after he scored the Super Bowl winning touchdown, Mecole Hardman had to be told by Patrick Mahomes that the game was over.

Then again, Hardman did admit during multiple interviews after the game that he “blacked out” after making the game-winning catch.

“This is why Mecole ‘blacked out’ when he caught the game winner, he was still under hypnosis from the preseason,” someone suggested on X.

“Oz the Mentalist needs to go to prison for his actions with Mecole Hardman,” another fan joked.
