Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies isn’t just one of the best second basemen in all of Major League Baseball. He’s also an absolutely huge fan of collecting fish.

And when we said huge, that might be an understatement. In fact, Albies has an entire Instagram page named “Ozzie’s Fishes” where he shows off photos and videos of his incredible home aquariums, filled with dozens of fish varieties. He also has a YouTube page where he posts videos related to his fish collecting and keeping.

So when students at local grade school, Lockheed Elementary, wrote to Albies asking them what type of fish they should get as a class pet, Albies was quick to step up.

But he didn’t just write back to them with recommendations.

Rather than responding to the letter and giving the students their own choice of fish, Albies decided to take more direct action. He responded to the school stating that he wanted to visit the class, and to donate both fish and a tank to the class.

“He set up an entire tank, taught them how to properly care for it, answered every question, and gifted them one of his very own goldfish, born and raised in his personal aquarium. Now her name is Sandy,” Albies’ wife Andreia shared on her Instagram page.

“The kids were fully engaged, so curious, and their thank-you notes meant everything to us,” she continued, before stating that they’d upload a video of the install to his YouTube page in the coming days.

Talk about going above and beyond for your community. No matter what you may think about the Atlanta Braves, there’s no denying that Ozzie Albies is a top tier human being.
