Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd are no longer a secret. I am not sure that they ever really were, but everything is finally out in the open after years of speculation and assumption.
Their relationship is very real!
Bueckers, the soon-to-be Rookie of the Year in the WNBA, spoke about her girlfriend while in Indianapolis for the All-Star Game. She knows Fudd extremely well because they’ve been together for awhile.
Paige Bueckers had her eye on Azzi Fudd.
Rumors of a romance between the two former UConn teammates started as soon as the younger of the two arrived to campus. Paige Bueckers personally recruited Azzi Fudd to Storrs. They have been on each other’s radars since at least 2019.
The recruiting efforts were a success. The Huskies made deep runs in the NCAA Tournament in each of their five seasons together and finally won a national championship last season.
Meanwhile, a deeper love was brewing behind the scenes.
Best friends or more than friends?
Bueckers stayed with Fudd and her family during quarantine, which led to the first evidence of a relationship. They were “sleeping together.”
And then there was this video:
The intertwined legs seemed to be a dead giveaway. As did a necklace. Fudd wore the No. 5, Bueckers’ jersey number, with a heart.
Deny, deny, deny.
Despite all of the signs, Bueckers and Fudd continuously denied what we now know is the truth. They said they were just teammates. They said they were just friends.
Maybe it was their decision to stay a secret. Or, maybe, they weren’t actually together at the time. Perhaps they were actually telling the truth.
What might’ve been true then, is most certainly not true now.

Azzi Fudd was the first person to hard launch her relationship with Paige Bueckers. She posted a photo on Instagram that proudly stated she is the No. 1 overall pick’s girlfriend.
Not too long thereafter, Bueckers confirmed that she is Fudd’s girlfriend. They were even filmed holding hands. That was earlier this month.
The couple is very well acquainted.
Even though there was definitive evidence of their love for each other, some fans would not believe it to be true until the words came out of their mouths. That finally happened in Indianapolis.
