Paige Shiver is no longer employed by the University of Michigan after an affair with Sherrone Moore. The 32-year-old did not get fired.
Her contract was not renewed.
This marks an official split between the Wolverines and this college football scandal. Both of the involved parties are no longer affiliated with the university.
Sherrone Moore accepted a plea deal.
The news of Moore’s ouster at Michigan first broke on the afternoon of Dec. 10. It was revealed that he was having an affair with one of his staffers, who has since been identified as Paige Shiver.
Moore was detained by police in Saline, Mich. just a few hours later after he threatened to take his own life with a knife in front of his mistress. Prosecutors formally charged Moore with felony third-degree home invasion and two misdemeanors, stalking in a domestic relationship and breaking and entering, on Friday. The 39-year-old was released from jail after meeting the $25,000 bond.
Fast forward to Friday. Moore agreed to plead no contest to malicious use of a telecommunications device and one count of trespass. Both charges are misdemeanors. The three previous charges — including the felony home invasion — are now dismissed.
A no contest plea means a defendant in a criminal prosecution accepts conviction but does not plead or admit guilt. However, the court treats a no contest plea just as it would a guilty plea.
Moore is set to be sentenced on April 14. The trespassing charge is punishable by up to 30 days in jail. The malicious use charge is punishable by up to 60 days in jail. They also include fines of up to $1,250.

Although we already knew the likely identity of Sherrone Moore’s mistress, she did not formally identify herself publicly until Friday. It is no longer alleged.
Shiver, the daughter of veteran NFL scout Jeff Shiver, was hired by the University of Michigan in Nov. 2021 as the Coordinator for On-Campus Recruiting and Football Operations. She was later promoted to the Executive Assistant to the Head Coach.
The records show that Shiver received a 55% salary bump at the start of the 2024-25 fiscal year. Her annual pay jumped from $58,025 to $90,000. All of this while she was sleeping with Moore on the side.
Although Paige Shiver was involved in an affair with the head football coach, Michigan could not fire her because of a school policy from a previous scandal. Moore was fired with cause. She remained employed during the initial aftermath of the affair. Not anymore.
Shiver’s contract recently expired and t was not renewed.
The mistress of Sherrone Moore is currently unemployed. She is no longer on staff with the Wolverines.
