An NFL fan in Carolina poured a drink on Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown after the Panthers dropped to 1-2 with a 10-point loss on Sunday. It was bummer way to end the best game of his career.

The drink-pourer was not Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper, who was fined in January for throwing his drink at a fan from his box during Week 17.

Brown finished with 80 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries. He also had two catches for 12 yards. Unfortunately, someone had to spoil his joyous walk through back tunnel into the locker room.

We don’t know whether the person who poured the drink was a Panthers fan, but the odds obviously trend heavily in that direction. Cincinnati Bengals fans actually took over Bank of America Stadium, and especially the lower bowl, so it was a real bummer that this happened.

Chase Brown was the No. 2-ranked Canadian prospect in the 2023 Canadian Football League Draft as a native of Ontario. However, the Bengals scooped him up in the seventh round of the NFL Draft and made his decision for him.

Even though Brown split 30 total carries equally with Zack Moss, he outgained him by 31 yards. It was also the first multi-touchdown game of his two-year career. For such an awesome afternoon to end with a soda (or beer?) on his head is a tough look for Carolina.

With that being said, what can you do when the Panthers’ owner is setting the example. *shrugs*

Cincinnati finally got in the win column on Sunday. It’s not time to hit the panic button just yet. The Bengals were able to move the ball and Brown played a big role in the offensive success. Someone decided to dull his shine with a bogus act.
