The Christian McCaffrey trade got the ball rolling and the Carolina Panthers are rumored to make more deals before the deadline. One player to watch for is Brian Burns, as multiple teams have shown interest in the star defensive end. However, it sounds like the front office turned down a big offer and the fanbase isn’t believing it for a second.
Panthers Rumored To Have Turned Down Massive Haul In A Brian Burns Trade
According to Sports Illustrated, “standout defensive end Brian Burns seems to be untouchable in the eyes of the Panthers front office. To wit, Carolina turned down an offer of two first-round picks for the fourth-year pro.” Considering this franchise is rebuilding, turning down two first-round picks is rather absurd.
Burns is a great defensive end for the Panthers. He’s been solid throughout his career so far. However, two first-round picks are a lot for someone like Brian Burns. For that reason, Carolina fans are in disbelief about the current rumors.
I don’t believe this at all

We have to agree with Joe on this one.
Any team would trade just about any player for that…

There really are only a handful of players valued as high as two first-round picks. Brian Burns is likely not one of them.
I’m taking that trade for anyone but a franchise QB and maybe Kupp, T.J. Watt, and one or two others

We’ll see if the Panthers pull the trigger on another big trade before the deadline. They’re in line to be one of the worst teams this year, which bodes well for their chances of having a top pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Even so, keep an eye on Brian Burns. Although the front office supposedly views him as untouchable, perhaps the front office will change their minds.
