Pat McAfee is responding to critics angry over his interview with President Trump,

On Tuesday, President Trump called in to the Pat McAfee show, which was on location at Parris Island, South Carolina on Veterans Day, just days after making an appearance during the NFL’s Salute To Service game.

During his appearance, Trump explained why he decided to speak with McAfee.

“I’m only joining you because I hear you say such nice things about me. When people say nice about me, I join. When they don’t say nice about me, I take a pass.”

McAfee received some criticism from political commentators for having Trump on his show.

Later in the show, McAfee fired back at his critics and explained his decision to have Trump on during Veterans Day.

“For the immediate people that are mad – it’s the president of the United States. It’s Veterans Day. He’s the Commander-in-Chief. Obviously, if we have the opportunity to talk to him, we’re going to!”

“And he is HILARIOUS!”
