Patrick Mahomes’ dad, former Major League Baseball pitcher Pat Mahomes, cannot seem to stay off the police blotter.

The 53-year-old once again had a brush with the law, this time for driving on an invalid license, five months after he was arrested for at least the sixth time for driving while intoxicated. He was previously charged with DWI twice in 2012, twice in 2018, and once in 2019.

TMZ reports that Patrick Mahomes Sr. was pulled over and given the ticket in Tyler, Texas at around 8:30 p.m. on June 29, the same city in which he received his latest DWI.

Mahomes was also given a warning for disregarding traffic signs, but it appears that he was allowed to continue driving. Why he wasn’t taken to jail for driving with an invalid license after being arrested six times for DWI is a question that Smith County Criminal District Attorney’s Office failed to answer when they declining comment to TMZ.

He is now scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, July 31 for the invalid license charge in addition to the trial for his latest DWI, which is also set to take place sometime later this month.

Patrick Mahomes Sr. faces up to 10 years in a Texas Department of Criminal Justice penitentiary for the DWI offense and up to a $10,000 fine

In February, the senior Mahomes was allowed to travel to Las Vegas to watch his son Patrick Mahomes II play in the Super Bowl despite his latest DWI being classified as a felony in the state of Texas.

Fox 59 News reported in February that under Texas law, “a person convicted of a third offense of impaired driving could face a $10,000 fine, two to 10 years in prison, and see their driver’s license suspended for up to two years. A state fine of $3,000, $4,500, or $6,000 could also be imposed.”

According to DailyMail.com, Patrick Mahomes Sr. pleaded guilty to one of his two 2018 DWI charges and was sentenced to 40 days in county jail on weekends during 2019 and 2020.
