Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and two-time Super Bowl winner Patrick Mahomes has signed a sponsorship deal with Prime, the beverage and energy drink brand founded by Logan Paul and KSI.
Mahomes is just one of many athletes/teams to sign endorsement deals with Prime in recent months, as he joins a roster that already includes Erling Haaland, Alexander Volkanovski, Arsenal, FC Barcelona, and Bayern Munich.
The 28-year-old Mahomes released a statement saying that Prime are “gamechangers” and that the partnership between the two will “merge innovation and excellence.
“Prime is a disruptive brand that has taken over the beverage industry since it first launched. They are gamechangers, and that’s exactly what I strive to be on the field. Our partnership is a winning play, merging innovation and excellence, setting a new standard both on and off the field,” Mahomes said.
According to Prime, they say they will do $1.2 billion in sales this year, and adding an athlete as notable as Mahomes will certainly help contribute to that.
Founders Logan Paul and KSI, who began as social media stars, also released a joint statement:
“At Prime, we believe in teaming up with greatness, and Patrick Mahomes isn’t just one of the best quarterbacks of all time; he’s rewriting the record book and bringing a whole new level of excitement to the game. Aligning with someone who’s pushing boundaries and breaking records is what Prime is all about, so this is a dream come true for us. It’s a privilege to welcome Patrick Mahomes to the Prime family and we can’t wait for you to see what we have planned for 2024!”
The company website says that Prime was created to “to fill the void where great taste meets function” in a space that includes the likes of Gatorade, Vitamin Water, Celsius, BodyArmor, Bai, Powerade, and many more.
In addition to Prime, Mahomes has also had sponsorship deals with brands such as endorsement deals with Adidas, State Farm, Oakley, Nestlé, and DirectTV, and has also invested in F1, the Kansas City Royals, and the Kansas City Current.
