Game 4 of the Nashville Predators-Chicago Blackhawks series went into triple overtime and it took until 1:16 a.m. local time for Brent Seabrook to score the game-winning goal. Things could have been done at a much more reasonable 1:13 a.m. had Predators goalie Pekka Rinne not successfully hidden a puck in his pads for three full minutes during the first overtime.
Seriously, this turned into one hell of a production.
At certain points the situation was reminiscent of a very wealthy man getting dressed by a team of assistants. At others it was like going through airport security.
And with each passing moment, it grew in greatness.
The puck was finally discovered after 2:51. It’s a shame we didn’t get to find out just how long this could have gone on before the search was abandoned. Five minutes? Ten? Longer?
