Earlier this week the Los Angeles Lakers were able to beat the odds to land in the top 4 in the draft lottery. Many Lakers fans hoped that getting the fourth pick would help the Lakers position themselves to trade for Anthony Davis.

Something finally went right for the Lakers. With the Pelicans set to get Zion, it’ll make it easier to part ways with Anthony Davis and with the Lakers having the #4 pick and the kids (Ingram, Lonzo, and Kuzma) they have the best trade package for AD.

Unfortunately for the Lakers, it seems that the Pelicans are still angry at the way Anthony Davis and Rich Paul went about their trade request last season and are not interested in trading him to L.A.

On ESPN Radio, Jackie MacMullan reiterated that she’s heard that Pelicans owner Gayle Benson is telling people that she would only trade Davis to the Lakers over her dead body.

Tough break for the Lakers but they still have plenty of option available to them this offseason.
Lakers GM Rob Pelinka is on a conference call with reporters and has made it very clear Lakers will canvass the league to determine trade value of fourth pick. Jumping this high in the draft, he said, is "an extraordinary shift for us."
