The college football offseason is upon us as we dredge through the dog days of summer. With no action to discuss on the field, talkin’ season is in full swing.

This week, a notable site ranked the 10 easiest college football schedules for the upcoming year. Fans have been quick to react.

We’ll preface this by saying that these rankings are based solely on last year’s results. This list goes off of overall record of opponents from 2022, which isn’t necessarily indicative of how those teams will perform in ’23.

For that reason, you won’t see a team like Georgia on the list though many believe they have one of the easier paths to the College Football Playoff.

Still, it’s a good starting point.

The rankings, unveiled on social media by PFF’s college football division, see Louisville as having the easiest schedule next year.

The combined record of Louisville’s opponents is 67-78, with seven of their 12 foes coming off of losing seasons. No team on the slate won double digit games, and just two teams ended the season ranked in the top 25 (No. 18 Notre Dame, No. 22 Pitt).

Most notable on the schedule is the fact that the Cardinals avoid both Florida State and Clemson in ACC play.

Rounding out the top five on the list of easiest college football schedules are Washington State, Iowa, Nebraska, and national runner-up TCU.

Fans were quick to comment on the rankings.

Some didn’t agree with the list, particularly USC fans, who’s team came in at No. 7.

Maryland fans took issue with the rankings, too.

Others, though, are excited about their team’s chances.

We’ll see how this list ages in the coming year.
