I don’t know about you, but I’m hesitant to say silly shit like “2018 is the best year of my life.” That’s a dumb statement. A cursed statement. Life is filled with nuance, with ebbs and flow. Life’s an ocean on a soul planet. It’s filled momentum and, let me tell you what, there’s no momentum in the universe quite like your favorite football team in the universe winning the Super Bowl with a backup quarterback and, more or less, the whole world rooting against you.
February 5th, 2018, will go down for a long time as one of the greatest days of my life and I wasn’t even in Pennsylvania for it. I can’t remember a sports moment ever throttling me to tears quite like that. I’m still riding the high like a tidal wave cresting on William Penn’s hat, even when circumstance brings the occasional low blow.
