Despite the fact that he’s the reigning Super Bowl champion, Philadelphia Eagles fans aren’t exactly all in on current head coach Nick Sirianni.

And some have good reason. Sirianni is loud, brash, and at times arrogant, and he’s definitely not without his flaws when it comes to his offensive scheme.

In the last four years, the Eagles have had four different offensive coordinators. Two of which had immense success, with Shane Steichen and Kellen Moore reaching and winning the Super Bowl, respectively, before going on to become head coaches.

Meanwhile, the other two, Brian Johnson and Kevin Patullo, were fired after just one year on the job. Now, Philadelphia is on the hunt for its fifth offensive coordinator in five years and seems to be having trouble finding someone to take the role.

Mike McDaniel spurned the Eagles for the Chargers. Brian Daboll passed on Philly for Cam Ward and the Tennessee Titans, and now it appears that Rams’ pass game coordinator Nathan Scheelhaase could well remain in LA.

So, where does that leave the Eagles?

Nick Sirianni Could Take Over Play-Calling Duties In 2026

One of the biggest criticisms of Sirianni during his time in Philadelphia is that he meddles too much in the offense.

Well, those fans might want to look away, because according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Eagles head coach could well take over play-calling duties altogether if the offensive coordinator search doesn’t come together soon.

Philadelphia recently had a second interview with Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Sean Mannion, and they also spoke to Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter. Although neither has been hired at this point.

The longer this goes on, the more it appears that Sirianni could be running the show for Philadelphia on offense in 2026.
