Philadelphia Eagles head of security ‘Big Dom’ DiSandro rose to fame last season when he was ejected for a sideline altercation with San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw.
The incident landed DiSandro a sideline ban through the rest of the 2023 season, and Philadelphia never seemed to recover, going 1-5 down the stretch, including a blowout loss to Tampa Bay in the NFC Wild Card round.
But DiSandro is back on the sidelines this year and even seems to have earned himself a promotion. Keen viewers of Philadelphia’s 37-17 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals noticed something different about ‘Big Dom’, and it may just have saved a once-teetering Eagles season.
Big Dom with a headset on is bad news for the rest of the NFL 🤣 @betmgm pic.twitter.com/1gOvb3f02e

For some reason, DiSandro was wearing a headset on the sidelines. It was the first time he’s worn a headset for the Eagles, and it was a very weird look at that. DiSandro isn’t involved in the on-field operations. So why does he need a headset?
Eagles fans don’t care.
Philadelphia scored a season-high 37 points in the victory. Star quarterback Jalen Hurts had his best game of the season, completing 16-of-20 passes for 236 yards. Hurts also scored three rushing touchdowns.
The Eagles offense looked as good as it has at any point this season, and some believe it’s the ‘Big Dom’ difference.
“It’s Dom in a headset,” former Eagle Chris Long said on his Green Light podcast. “He’s had the headset on the last couple weeks. And I gotta tell you, they look better … I’m starting to wonder if Dom is the glue guy.”
Now, none of that makes sense.
DiSandro has nothing to do with the actual on-field product. But from a strictly cause-and-effect standpoint, it’s kind of hard to argue.
Philadelphia started the season at 2-2 and after a labored victory over the Cleveland Browns, fans began to turn on the team.
They’ve now won two games in a row in blowout fashion. And DiSandro might just be the key. It’s remarkably stupid. But so are a lot of things in sports and we don’t question them. So maybe, just maybe, there’s something there.
