Philadelphia Eagles fans and Washington Commanders fans were mortal enemies for 60 minutes as their two teams played against each other in the NFC Championship on Sunday. However, they were able to put their differences aside during the pregame tailgate.
They were able to unite on a common goal: hating the Dallas Cowboys.
This 2024/25 NFL season has been something of an anomaly for Washington. The Commanders, formerly Redskins, have only made the playoffs five times since the turn of the millennium. They never made it past the Divisional Round and rarely made it out of the Wild Card.
Former team owner (and known slimeball) Dan Snyder finally sold during the offseason and is forced to watch his former organization make it to the NFC Championship for the first time since 1991 without him. The fanbase is finally able to enjoy success. It has been a long time coming.
Philadelphia is on the opposite end of the spectrum. The Eagles are supposed to be here. They went 14-3 en route to their second NFC Championship in three years.
Although the two NFC teams vying for a trip to the Super Bowl are division rivals, they joined together at the tailgate on Sunday. If there is one thing on which they can agree, it is their hatred of the Cowboys. Chants of “Dallas sucks” broke out in the parking lot prior to kickoff.

Meanwhile, a Philadelphia man made his rounds with a shopping cart grill. Yes, you read that correctly. The man managed to rig a shopping cart to barbecue what appeared to be a full pig.

No matter what people think about the current state of our country, this is why America is great. Two fanbases with a deep-rooted hatred for one another came together to eat street meat out of a shopping cart and to troll the team in their division that did not even make playoffs. That’s patriotism at its finest.
