Fans React To 44-Year-Old Philip Rivers Appearing Out Of Shape Hours Before Starting NFL Game

44-year-old Philip Rivers doesn’t appear to be in football shape despite getting the nod to start for the Colts.

Earlier this week, the Colts revealed that they would be starting Rivers, despite the fact that he hasn’t played in nearly four years, after Daniel Jones went down with an Achilles injury.

Rivers spoke about the unique opportunity to play again during a press conference this week.

“Certainly not hanging any hope on playing again. There’s something exciting about it that excited me. It’s kind of one of those deals—the door opens and you can either walk through it and find out if you can do it. I know that there’s obviously risk involved that may or may not happen, but the only way to find out. I just felt almost like it was another opportunity to cut loose with the guys in the game you love to play and live the dream. You got that?

When Rivers was asked about his weight, he told reporters that he didn’t know how much he weighed these days.

“I’m not sure. How bout that? That’s an honest answer. … Not what it was when I walked off the field in Buffalo. But I ain’t ran away from anybody anyway.”

On Sunday, hours before his first start with the Colts this season, Rivers went viral when he warmed up on the field.

Fans mocked Rivers for looking more like an offensive coordinator than an actual NFL player.
