Pittsburgh sports radio show host Andrew Fillipponi was so confident that the 4-1 Steelers would win on Thursday against the 2-4 Cincinnati Bengals that he made a very unusual guarantee. If Pittsburgh lost, he would get his nipples pierced. Whoops.

Following the Steelers’ 33-31 loss to the Bengals, who had 40-year-old Joe Flacco under center in just his second game since being traded by the Cleveland Browns, Fillipponi, who was live-tweeting the game all night, wrote, “RIP to my nipples. We had some great times together. It’s over now. Thanks Tomlin.”

Little did anyone, let alone Andrew Fillipponi, expect Joe Flacco to go 31-of-47 with 342 passing yards and 3 touchdowns against a Steelers defense that was supposed to be pretty good. Heck, Flacco even took off running on one play for a 13-yard first down during the contest.

Throw in the fact the Flacco admitted after the game that he was “basically winging it” since he didn’t always understand what play Bengals coach Zac Taylor was calling, and it makes the Steelers’ loss even more inexplicable.

Perhaps things went off the rails for the Steelers after Aaron Rodgers got tackled by one of his offensive lineman after throwing for a touchdown that gave Pittsburgh the lead late in the game. Rodgers certainly didn’t seem to appreciate it.

“I fell asleep. But just woke up thinking about getting my nipples pierced,” Fillipponi wrote late on Thursday. “And now I think I’m up for the rest of the night. Why do I do this to myself???”

Will Andrew Fillipponi really get his nipples pierced?

With numerous people saying that there is no way Fillipponi would follow-through on his guarantee, he took to X (Twitter) with a message confirming that he is a man of his word.

“I am going to get my nipples pierced,” he said in a video reassuring everyone that he will do it. “When it happens, how it happens, how you can watch it, how you can be a part of it, all that stuff is going to be discussed at two-o’clock on the show today.”

He went to say that he would not be welching or paying his way out of it. “Mike Tomlin did this to me and I’m never going to forget it and I’m going to have a permanent marking on my body to remind me at all times not to trust his defense and his team in certain situations,” he said.
