Pop-Tarts Bowl Postgame Edible Mascot Is A Huge Flop, Not A Real Mascot

Ever since the Pop-Tarts Bowl announced that they would have an edible mascot, the hype was unstoppable. People wondered exactly how that would come to be and what that would look like.

After #25 Kansas State topped #18 North Carolina State, 28-19, we now have our answer. Sadly, it was a huge letdown. Take a look.

That’s not a mascot at all! That’s just a pastry! We wanted the actual mascot to be edible. We have all collectively been hoodwinked. Shame on Pop-Tarts.

This despite the fact they doubled down prior to the postgame ceremony. My colleague, Clay Sauertieg, called out the fact that the mascot during the game wasn’t edible. They promised us that after the game, the mascot would indeed be edible.

It was not so. At the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, they actually dump real mayonnaise on the winning coach. This is a cop-out.
