On, Thursday, the world was stunned at the news that the College of Cardinals had selected Chicago native Robert Francis Prevost as the next pope. He will now be known by his chosen name, Pope Leo XIV.

Prevost was considered a big underdog to be selected as Pope less than a month following the death of Pope Francis. Instantly, memes involving sports were everywhere on social media, and ABC even reported he was a Chicago Cubs fan.
But, that’s not true! Take a look at these comments made by his brother, who still lives in Chicagoland.

Let’s be frank. This development is coming at the right time for the White Sox. Last year, they were 41-121, becoming the worst team in modern baseball history. Right now, they’re 10-27, which is somehow an improvement on last year’s pace. It looks like it will take divine intervention for them to turn it around.
