After finishing with the Western Conference’s 2nd best record for a 2nd consecutive season, there was hope among Memphis Grizzlies fans that the team might be able to make a run in the playoffs this year.
Instead, they were eliminated in just 6 games by the 7-seed Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the playoffs.
During the series, Dillon Brooks made a comment about LeBron being old and how he doesn’t respect anybody until they drop 40 on him.
The comment clearly backfired in a big way during the series and has ended up having a pretty negative impact on his career.
Brooks’ contract has expired and based on recent reports, the Grizzlies don’t have any interest in keeping him from testing free agency.
Based on the way his career in Memphis ended, there are some who believe he is going to have a tough time finding anybody interested in his services in the future.
It turns out there is already a team showing some interest in bringing him in this offseason.
According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the Detroit Pistons are interested in Brooks.

Dillon Brooks clearly doesn’t have many fans right now, but he could be an interesting addition for the Pistons.
He isn’t all that impressive of an offensive player, having shot under 40% from the field for the season this past year. However, he is still a solid defender and the Pistons could use some help on that end of the floor. The team was 28th in defensive rating during the 2022-23 season.
Adding Brooks to another team full of young talent may not be the best move based on how things played out in Memphis, but he would fill a need for the Pistons.
