Prime Video has spent recent months setting up its team for its NBA coverage, which is set to begin next season. According to reports, the streamer is in talks with Kevin Harlan to be their #2 play-by-play man.

In late 2024, it was announced that Prime Video had tapped NFL, NBA, and college basketball announcer Ian Eagle — who is also the commentator for the Brooklyn Nets — to be their #1 play-by-play guy when their coverage of the NBA begins next season.

In addition to potentially landing Eagle and Kevin Harlan as their one-two punch of play-by-play men, Prime Video has also signed Taylor Rooks to be their studio host alongside analysts Blake Griffin and Dirk Nowitzki.

As for who will partner with Eagle and Harlan, Prime Video is still searching for analysts to fill the roles. According to The Athletic, the “streamer has had talks with Dwyane Wade about a hybrid role for in-studio and game coverage.”

Amazon are also reportedly eyeing TNT’s Stan Van Gundy and ESPN’s Richard Jefferson.

“Harlan, like Eagle, is expected to continue with his NFL and college basketball duties for CBS. Harlan also is the radio voice for Monday Night Football and the Super Bowl for Westwood One.”

“TNT Sports is in the final season as an NBA rights holder. Next season, the packages of games will be divided between incumbent ESPN/ABC, Amazon Prime Video and NBC/Peacock. NBC and Peacock are expected to have Mike Tirico and Noah Eagle as their top two game callers. NBC has held discussions with TNT’s Reggie Miller about calling games.” [via The Athletic]

This season will mark the final season that the NBA is broadcast on TNT, as the new broadcasting deals that the league signed last year were with ABC/ESPN, Prime Video, and NBC.

While TNT is losing its NBA broadcasting rights, its legendary studio show Inside The NBA will live on as a deal was struck to move the show over to ESPN next season.
