Princely Umanmielen transferred from Florida to Ole Miss during the offseason. The Rebels lost to the Gators on Saturday, which sent the defensive lineman into a fit of rage on his way out of The Swamp.
He was escorted out of the stadium by police while still wearing his full uniform after trying to confront a group of hostile fans.
Umanmielen, a 6-foot-4, 255-pound edge rusher, took a vicious shot at Florida’s coaching staff back in March. This weekend’s return to Gainesville has been on his mind for months. He even wore a Gators-themed ski mask while traveling back to the place he left last December. It was personal.

Unfortunately, Umanmielen was on the wrong side of the result when the clock hit zero. The Rebels are eliminated from College Football Playoff contention after a gut-wrenching, heart-breaking loss during which one of the most explosive offenses in the country scored only 17 points.
On the flip side, Ole Miss’ defense allowed 24 points. Umanmielen recorded seven total tackles and a sack but it was not enough. He actually left the field before the game was over.

As Umanmielen walked back into the tunnel, a group of fans were quick to get on him about the result. They quipped that he never should’ve left Florida if he wanted to be a winner.
The situation very quickly escalated from there. Umanmielen sprinted out of the stadium and chased after the hecklers while a large group of policemen rushed to intervene. Fortunately, the officers were able to intercept the large defensive end before he could get to the Gators fans.
Unfortunately, that was not the conclusion of what happened.
Umanmielen was walked back into Ole Miss’ locker room by multiple coaches and the officers. Something set him off as he left the scene, which caused him to turn back in rage to charge at the perpetrator. It might’ve been a racial slur but the audio is hard to decipher. He was forcibly restrained.
Princely Umanmielen crashed out in the worst way possible and issued the following statement.
I did let my emotions get the best of me due to people yelling recklessly at me, but putting my hands on anyone wasn’t even a thought. Nevertheless I had fun in my last game in the swamp, brought back amazing memories. wish we could’ve left w the dub. Regardless God is always…

If the gaggle of Florida fans did in fact shout a slur in his direction, he had every reason to be upset. However, he should not have been in that situation in the first place. It was a disappointing ending to a disappointing afternoon.
