A Los Angeles County prosecutors’ document says Sean Combs, AKA Diddy, attacked UCLA football staff over his son being disciplined.
Justin Combs, Diddy’s eldest son, attended UCLA on a football scholarship (a move that raised eyebrows at the time), graduating in 2016 after playing in just nine games over three seasons for the Bruins.
Now, a new report by RadarOnline.com claims Diddy was a menace to the UCLA football staff while Justin played there.
According to a document obtained from Los Angeles County prosecutors, Diddy was angered by the way his son was being disciplined by a UCLA football coach in 2015.
The incident reportedly occurred after UCLA strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi told Justin Combs he was unhappy with the defensive back’s effort during a voluntary summer workout and told him to get off the field and not return.
It was then, according to the document, “[Diddy] and his son entered the office and words were exchanged. [Diddy] approached the coach and physically assaulted him causing some minor scratches and tearing his shirt.”
When numerous members of the UCLA training staff tried to intervene and remove Diddy from the office, he allegedly choked an intern, scratching his neck.
Also during the scrum, Diddy allegedly put another UCLA football coach in a headlock and swung a kettlebell at other staff members.
After the incident, Diddy was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, making criminal threats, and battery.
Attorney Mark Geragos, who represented Diddy at the time, got him released without any formal charges being made as a rep for the rapper claimed his behavior was “solely defensive in nature to protect himself and his son.”
“Two different prosecutorial agencies looked at it and both declined to prosecute,” said Geragos, who has also represented Scott Peterson, Chris Brown, and Michael Jackson. “I understand the interest now, but clearly, this did not rise to the level of criminal prosecution.”
