Quincy Wilson won a gold medal in Paris as part of Team USA’s track and field squad on Saturday. In two weeks, he’ll head back to high school.

The Olympian came to terms with that reality as the Games wrapped up this weekend. It doesn’t sound like he’s ready to go home!

Wilson made history at the Olympics this summer by becoming the youngest male track athlete to compete in the field. He ran in the 4 x 400-meter relay on Friday to help his team make the final.

Team USA won gold the next day.

Wilson posted a photo of his Olympic honor over the weekend alongside a caption that read, “Dang, I really got school in 2 and a half weeks.”

The 16-year-old will return to Bullis School in Maryland shortly after he arrives home from Paris. As many noted in the comments section of his original post, it will be hard to top his “What did you do this summer?” story.

While the focus will soon get back to that “normal” high school life, training for the future will also be on the itinerary. After the historic performance, and a record-setting leadup to the Games, he should have eyes set on an Olympic return in 2028.

That event will take place on US soil with Los Angeles the host city. Until then, Quincy Wilson will juggle high school and Olympic training in hopes of making even more history four years from now.

Totally normal!!
