Raiders WR Amari Cooper Leaves Game After Taking Scary Hit To Head

It’s only halftime but the Raiders have lost their two top receivers in their game against the Broncos on Sunday.

After Michael Crabtree was ejected in the first quarter for getting into an insane fight with Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib, Raiders receiver Amari Cooper was forced to exit the game left in the second quarter with an apparent neck injury.

Watch as Cooper attempted to catch a first-down pass over the middle from quarterback Derek Carr, but was drilled Broncos safety Darian Stewart. Even though the hit appeared to be legal in the replay as Cooper quickly lowered his head, Stewart was still penalized for unnecessary roughness on the play.

Broncos’ safety Stewart was also injured on the play according to ESPN’s Jeff Legwold.

Broncos safety Darian Stewart was injured and ran off the field after the collision with Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper with what looked like a possible shoulder injury or stinger — he was penalized on the play. The Broncos have had rookie Brendan Langley and rookie Jamal Carter in the during this Raiders possession. Doctors still checking Stewart.

Cooper was somehow able to stand and walk off slowly into the Raiders locker room but doesn’t appear to be returning to the game any time soon.

Update: Darian Stewart has returned to the game.
