Randall Cobb shared a message to his fans and footage of his destroyed home after a house fire believed to have been caused by a Tesla charger ripped through the house.

In a joint message from Randall Cobb and his wife Aiyda, they wrote “we got out of the house with nothing but the clothes on our back and no shoes on our feet” and said that after they escaped the blaze they were able to quickly get back into the house to rescue their dog Louie before the fire engulfed the home.

The first image in the Instagram gallery is their message to fans but scrolling to the right there are videos and images of the destruction caused by the fire:

While the house fire is under investigation, Randall Cobb’s wife Aiyda posted on Instagram that she believes the family’s Tesla charger is what caused the blaze:

The football community responded to Randall’s post on Instagram. Jordan Schultz wrote “This is horrifying brother. I’m so sorry you had to endure this, but so grateful you and your entire family are okay. Lots of love and prayer.” Tramon Williams Sr. commented “Glad you and the family is safe! Praying for y’all my bro.” Kevin Byard commented “Sending prayers yall way bro.”

It seems like most of the family’s possessions were destroyed in the fire. Randall wrote on Instagram “Unfortunately we don’t know how much, if anything, will be salvageable, but this has been a reminder that nothing is more important than the health of our family. We are grateful for our incredible community in Nashville, and the support from our close friends that have given us a temporary roof over our heads and shoulders to lean on.”

Cobb is currently an unrestricted free agent after playing with the Jets last season on a $3M salary that was supposed to be a season reunited with Aaron Rodgers. It remains to be seen if the Jets will sign him for another season with Rodgers expected to be back and healthy in 2024.
