Lane Kiffin landed a commitment from running back Rashad Amos on Saturday, less than one month after he committed to play for Deion Sanders at Colorado. It is actually the former Miami University ball-carrier’s third commitment in 35 days.

Ole Miss also stole him from its in-state rival Mississippi State and its former offensive coordinator!

Amos, a three-star prospect in the college football recruiting Class of 2020, had 13 offers out of high school. He committed to South Carolina.

However, after two years with limited carries, the Georgia-native hit the portal and transferred to Miami of Ohio. It was a breakout season for Rashad Amos, who ran for 1,075 yards and 13 touchdowns on 210 carries.

Amos decided to re-enter the portal after one very successful year with the Redhawks and wanted to transfer back up to the Power Five Four level. There were more than a few suitors!

Jeff Lebby, who previously helped run the offense on Kiffin’s staff at Ole Miss, is the first-year head coach at Mississippi State and desperately needs a running back. Amos committed to the Bulldogs on April 13.

And then Coach Prime got in his ear.

The 6-foot-2, 234-pound running back took a visit out to Boulder, which enticed him enough to flip his commitment from Mississippi State to Colorado. It was ultimately Deion Sanders who sealed the deal.

What initially seemed like a great pickup for the Buffaloes quickly went south on Saturday afternoon. Quite literally.

I’d like to thank everybody for the support. This has not been for the faint hearted. I’d like to thank all of the coaches that have poured into me throughout this process. I really appreciate it. Finding the best fit isn’t a simple task on or off the field. I’ve had a lot to consider thus far. So after speaking on that I would like to decommit from Colorado !
Thank You to Everyone

Amos visited Ole Miss earlier this week and officially flipped his commitment, again, after weighing his options. Ironically enough, he is going from Oxford, Oh. to Oxford, Miss.

It was not an easy decision but the haters are going to hate. Especially those down in Starkville.

Meanwhile, Lane Kiffin and the Rebels snatched up all of the infinity stones to create the deepest running back room in the country after Quinshon Judkins was not-so quietly shown the door. Ole Miss added:

  • Amos
  • Former Notre Dame and LSU running back Logan Diggs
  • Former Miami (and Ole Miss, a first time) running back Henry Parrish Jr.
  • Former New Mexico State running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt
    • (Even though he’s probably out of eligibility)
  • Former Georgia State and Clemson running back Domonique Thomas

They will play alongside Ulysses Bentley IV, who averaged 6.8 yards per touch as the top-performing running back on the roster last season.
