The NFL has some of the most passionate fans in the world, and there are true diehards for all 32 teams. But, sometimes, things go way off the rails, which is what happened after last Sunday’s Washington Commanders-Baltimore Ravens game in Baltimore.
Video of a Ravens fan coldheartedly assaulting two Commanders fans on Sunday, October 13 led to an outcry on social media for the perpetrator to be brought to justice. On Thursday, the suspect was charged with multiple felonies.
The Ravens beat the Commanders 30-23 in maybe the biggest regular season game the two rivals have ever played. Since they’re in different conferences, they only played once every four years. While it can happen more frequently than that now after the schedule moved to 17 games, it’s still not a game played very often. That being said, there is plenty of bad blood between the fan bases.
Here’s the video that went viral, showing a truly brutal and unprovoked assault.

Those are some serious charges, but seem well deserved. The Ravens and Commanders played a great football game. That should’ve been the end of it.
