Ravens DB Eddie Jackson Misses Practice For Relatable Reason

With just 6 days until their season opener next Thursday night against the Kansas City Chiefs, things are getting down to the nitty-gritty for the Baltimore Ravens. Now is not the time to be missing practices as they prepare for a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship Game.

But, things happen that are sometimes out of our control. Baltimore Ravens safety Eddie Jackson was harshly reminded of that, as transportation issues kept him from attending a crucial practice on Friday.

With the NFL preseason ending two weeks before the first week of regular season games, some teams gave players off days this week before they head into a normal game week next week in preparation for their season-openers.  It’s some much-needed rest and relaxation before the season kicks into gear.

Some players will take the time to go back to their offseason homes, and apparently that’s what Eddie Jackson did. But, transportation delays  didn’t allow him to get back to Baltimore in time for practice.

Three players on the Ravens’ 53-man roster missed practice yesterday. Two were with nagging injuries, but Head Coach John Harbaugh had to note while Jackson wasn’t at practice.

The Ravens will be looking to get the 2018 All-Pro selection back as soon as possible. With the Ravens wanting to play do-it-all strong safety Kyle Hamilton closer to the line of scrimmage this year to wreak havoc, Jackson will get plenty of snaps at strong safety when the Ravens are in sub packages.

That will show up in Week 1, as the Ravens are likely to use Hamilton to cover Travis Kelce while Jackson plays a more traditional safety role.

Eddie Jackson is in his first year with the Ravens after spending his first seven years with the Chicago Bears.
