It appeared the Ravens had gotten a boost on the defensive front after agreeing to trade for Maxx Crosby last week. That was a bittersweet development for one fan who promised to shave his head if Baltimore landed him, and it’s safe to assume he regrets not waiting until the defensive end passed his physical before following through.
Sports have always had an uncanny ability to make people do some crazy things, but social media has spawned an era where fans will pledge to make some questionable decisions over various developments while providing the world with receipts that can be pulled out if those events end up transpiring.
For example, one Florida State fan was accused of cursing the team that went 2-10 in 2024 after failing to live up to his promise to eat dog poop if the Seminoles fell to Boston College during their second game of what turned out to be an incredibly dismal season.
However, other people have followed through, like one guy who recently ate nothing but Wendy’s chili for a month after doubting Scottie Scheffler and a Lightning fan who literally ate his hat after they were swept by the Blue Jackets in the first round of the playoffs in 2019.
Now, the members of that second group have been joined by a Ravens fan who could have avoided his fate if he’d been a bit more patient.
A fan who said he would shave his head if the Ravens traded for Maxx Crosby posted proof he followed through right before the deal was called off
All signs pointed to the Raiders attempting to move Maxx Crosby ahead of the upcoming NFL season, and on Friday, they agreed to ship the five-time Pro Bowler off to Baltimore in exchange for a couple of first-round picks.
That trade couldn’t be finalized until the league’s new year began on Wednesday afternoon, and while Crosby had to pass a physical before the two sides officially moved forward, it seemed like that was going to be a formality.
No one forced a Ravens fan named Nate to put his hair on the line over a potential trade for Crosby, but that’s exactly what he decided to do around a week before the tentative deal was announced.

On Tuesday, Nate proved he’d followed through when he shared a photo of his new look in a post that was uploaded at 7:23 P.M.

That meant he shared it around 40 minutes before the Raiders provided an update about the trade in question when they announced the Ravens had called it off over the meniscus issue that reportedly led to Crosby failing his physical.
As you can imagine, Nate was not pleased.
