The viral phenomenon that is Dr. Rachel Gunn aka ‘Raygun‘ is far from over as the Australian breakdancer has reportedly signed with a talent agency and is said to be fielding multiple reality TV offers.

Raygun was easily the most popular story to come out of breaking/breakdancing at the Paris Olympics, the first Olympic Games to feature that as a sport, as Dr. Rachel Gunn holds a PhD with a specialty in breakdancing but lost her three matches by a combined score of 54-0. Her dancing routines were the catalyst for millions of memes during the Olympic Games and things got so bad for her a petition was launched by people calling for an investigation into how she made the Australian Olympic Team.

In recent days, Dr. Rachel Gunn aka Raygun added contact information to her Instagram bio. The contact info corresponds to Born Bred Talent’s general manager Stephanie Scicchitano. Born Bred Talent represents a slew of influencers and there are now rumors that Dr. Rachel Gunn is fielding reality TV offers.

Recently, Yahoo! Lifestyle reported an Australian executive producer told them “the future of one of the world’s most talked about Australians, Raygun, is currently being negotiated with multiple TV offers. Rachael Gunn is close to securing a lucrative network deal any day now. Which could determine which ‘celebrity’ reality show the notorious breakdancer will appear on, as Channel Nine, Network Ten and Channel Seven battle it out.

Another report from CinemaBlend links Raygun to Season 11 of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in the UK which would certainly help elevate her profile but would also be an odd career move for a PhD/academic.

For anyone thinking Dr. Rachel Gunn’s 60 seconds of fame is about to end… Not so fast. Season 50 of Saturday Night Live starts at the end of September and Rachel Dratch has already nailed her Raygun impression. It’s an absolute certainty that character will be seen on SNL at some point as she’s already broke out the b-girl impression for Fallon:

Many are still convinced this is some sort of Sacha Baron Cohen moment (many = me, I’m convinced) and this b-girl personality is akin to Ali G or Borat. Only time will tell if she puts pen to paper on any of the rumored reality TV deals but the world will be watching if she does.
