Red Sox Fan Drops Easiest Green Monster HR Ball Then Surrenders His Man Card To His Wife Who Dunked On Him

Boston Red Sox fan drops Green Monster ball

NESN

Sitting atop the Green Monster on Monday night, one Boston Red Sox fan went viral after he dropped an easy ball that would have been a home run had he pulled it in. After he dropped the easiest shot at catching a HR he’ll ever see in his life, he got ridiculed by the announcers, fans, and by his own wife who was wearing a baseball glove and could’ve easily snagged the ball.

This dude’s 15 minutes of fame seemed to last most of the game as NESN sent out a crew to speak with him and his wife straight up clowned on him for dropping the ball when she was wearing a glove the entire game. He tried to play it off like he had no idea she was wearing the baseball mitt and she called him on that immediately. This all came after he was ridiculed on the NESN broadcast for dropping this easy ball:

The dude throws his hands up in the air in shame knowing all of Red Sox Nation just watched his butter fingers in action:

My dude, if it hits you in the hands like that and everyone standing around you is wearing a glove you simply have to walk home. No public transportation. No Uber. You’re walking back to wherever you came in from. And you’re surrendering your man card to your wife who would’ve made the easy play if you just let her.

Things got worse for him throughout the game as he was getting ridiculed by the NESN announcers and baseball fans on X (formerly Twitter). Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy shared this video of NESN sending a reporter out to the Green Monster to speak with the guy and ask why he didn’t let his wife, who was wearing a baseball glove, make the easy catch? He tried to claim he didn’t know she was wearing the glove which she pointed out was obviously a lie:

Ultimately, dropping the ball didn’t matter. The Red Sox put on a hit show against the Mariners and won the game 14-7 due in large part to a 7-run 3rd inning that Seattle wasn’t ever able to recover from. Boston also got 6.2 innings out of their starter, Nick Pivetta, which helped keep the arms fresh in the pen.

That said, Boston sits 6 games off of Baltimore who leads the division but they are on the verge of passing the Yankees who are playing like complete and utter trash and somehow still hold a 0.5 game lead over the Red Sox, but not for long. And some how, some way, despite trading off what felt like 1/3 of the team, my Tampa Bay Rays are only 2.5 games behind Boston. The division is tight.
