It’s incredible how good big leaguers are at baseball. They make an incredibly difficult game look very easy, especially in the field. But, on Saturday, the Boston Red Sox defense didn’t live up to that standard.
With the New York Mets having already won game 1 of the doubleheader created by a rain suspension Friday night at Fenway, Jeff McNeil came up to bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd with two outs in the 4th inning with the Mets trailing 2-0. What ensued was pure comedy.
Jeff McNeil laced a ball up the middle for a two-rbi single, Boston Red Sox catcher threw the ball into centerfield while trying to throw McNeil out at second base following a throw home, and he circled the bases for a classic Little League home run.

Oh man. The Twitter takes were out.
The Red Sox just can’t stop giving up little league homers. The defense is embarrassing https://t.co/mdFaQGdNjS
