Refs in the Commanders-Eagles game missed a pretty big cal,l and fans aren’t happy about it.
In the fourth quarter of the Monday Night game, Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert fumbled the ball, and the Commanders recovered it.
On the replay, it was obvious that the refs had missed an extremely obvious facemask penalty while giving the ball to the Commanders.
Refs missed possibly the most obvious facemask in a very long time. Costly for Phillyhttps://t.co/qKOd3tpnmO

The Commanders went on to kick a field goal on the next possession in a tight game thanks to the blown call and NFL fans were annoyed with the call.
NFL doesn't review penalties like that facemask grab b/c its core replay philosophy is to avoid re-officiating calls in the booth. Anything that requires judgment stays on the field. I'd love to see that change, but the pass interference fiasco of 2019 was a huge setback.
