We have our first referee controversy of the NCAA tournament.
With Kansas up one point with 19 seconds left to go in the game, Jayhawks’ Nick Timberlake went up for a dunk and appeared to get fouled, which led to two crucial free throws.
On closer review, it appeared that Samford’s player had cleanly blocked Timberlake’s dunk and should not have been called for a foul.

Here’s several replays of the play.
Samford got absolutely ROBBED. That was all ball. Shameful by the refs. #MarchMadness pic.twitter.com/1yHJKPomFL

Eventually Timberlake hit both free throws and Kansas went on to win the game.
This play will go down as one of the worst calls of the NCAA tournament.
