‘Rehab is Amazing,’ ‘Like Football Camp,’ Says Toronto Mayor Rob Ford

After a new tape surfaced showing Rob Ford once again smoking crack—it came after him! what was he going to do!—Ford recently sought rehabilitation for his drug and alcohol demons. It’s pretty awesome, he said.

“Rehab is amazing,” Ford told the Toronto Sun. “It reminds me of football camp. Kind of like the Washington Redskins camp I went to as a kid.”

Ford, who may have more phone access than has ever been given to another patient in rehab, refused to say what the center was named or where it was located. He did say he had developed a nice support group, though. “There are two doctors here, a captain of industry and a professional athlete,” he said. “There are terrific people in my group. We are all supporting each other. We are connecting in a weird way.” If you kind of feel Ford did the interview underneath his City Hall desk while clutching a Labatt Blue, well, you’re not alone.

Finally, Ford also told the Sun that he plans to run for mayor again this October. “I will be on the ballot for mayor in October, guaranteed, and I will do well. On Oct. 28, there will be no need to change the locks.” God bless this man.
