If you have ever dreamed of owning your own Formula One race track then have we got just the thing for you. No, it’s not an actual F1 track, but it’s the next best thing.

A scale model replica of Istanbul ‘s Formula One Turkish Grand Prix race track is currently up for sale in Amarillo, Texas (actually Panhandle, Texas) with an asking price of just $2 million!

Now you may be asking, why, of all the race circuits that Formula One has held events at would someone choose to build a copy of the Turkish Grand Prix track? The answer? No idea.

Formula One held nine events at the track in Istanbul Park between 2005 and 2011, and then again in 2020 and 2021 because of the pandemic.

Driver Felipe Massa and constructor Ferrari hold the records for the most wins at the track having won the race three times apiece. Other winners at the track include Kimi Raikkonen, Lewis Hamilton (twice), Sebastian Vettel, and Valtteri Bottas.

So, if you have fantasies of being the next Lewis Hamilton, but can’t quite afford an F1 ride, then this scaled-down 0.91-mile asphalt Formula One Turkish Grand Prix race track might just be your cup of tea.

The Amarillo Kart Complex, according to its listing on LoopNet, offers 50.27 acres of property in Carson County, Texas with I-40 frontage, two deep wells with 80,000-gallon water storage tanks that can be filled in 4 hours, a 25kW electric transformer, buried utilities, with Spectrum fiber available on I-40.

It also comes with a fully air-conditioned and heated 50 x 100-foot two-story building with bathrooms, showers, and living quarters, spray-foamed for efficiency, as well as a 30 x 40-foot building with offices, bathrooms, and party rooms, so not only do you get the track, you also get a place to live and party!

Built in 2012, the 19 turn track, according to The Drive, was the brainchild of local orthopedic surgeon Thane Morgan.

He built the track for his and his friends and family’s own private use until 2017. That year it was opened up to the public for the Texas ProKart Challenge.

In 2022, brothers Kyle, Brad, and Joe Yuchinski purchased the racing facility, “adding 20,000 sq. ft. of asphalt, a covered grid area, a revamped track exit, a scoring tower, an elevated viewing platform, security fencing, bathrooms, showers, and a new pro shop with rental spaces.”

They reopened it to the public in May 2023, but for some reason are already looking to sell a little over a year later.
