Robert Griffin III’s wife is reacting to the news of her husband getting fired.
On Thursday, The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand reported that Griffin, alongside longtime NFL reporter Sam Ponder, were being fired by ESPN due to budget cuts.

ESPN has fired “NFL Countdown” host Sam Ponder and analyst Robert Griffin III, sources briefed on the moves told The Athletic.
Both moves were made for financial reasons as ESPN nears the end of its fiscal year at the end of September, according to a source briefed on the matter. Both Ponder and Griffin made more than seven figures annually.
These are the only two moves today. ESPN is not going to have another huge round, but the fiscal year ends at the end of September so there could be a couple of other changes. https://t.co/f7E5vsdcuX

RG3 and his wife had spent the summer in Paris at the Olympics and had recently gone viral after sharing a picture of themselves eating a large croissant.

While RG3’s time at ESPN is over, he’ll surely get interest from Fox Sports as either an analyst or in the broadcast booth.
