Just weeks after former NASCAR star Greg Biffle and six others, including his immediate family, died in a plane crash, investigators say someone broke into his household and stole $30,000 worth of cash.

According to reports, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office responded to Biffle’s estate on Doolie Road a little after 6 p.m. on Jan. 8. The reports state that both $30,000 in cash and a backpack were missing from the home. However, police did not find anyone at the scene when they arrived.

No arrests have been announced in connection with the investigation, and detectives have not stated whether or not they have identified any suspects or persons of interest at this time.

However, just hours after the deadly plane crash, one of Biffle’s business partners sued the former NASCAR driver, claiming that he contributed expertise and money to a failing company.

Greg Biffle And Family Passed Away In Mid-December

On December 18, Biffle, his family, and two others were on a plane heading to Florida for a small-scale racing event when the plane crashed shortly after takeoff.

The NTSB did not immediately identify a cause of the crash and is still investigating at the time, although some have suspected that inclement weather played a role.

In 2024, Biffle went viral as he manned his personal helicopter to aid victims of Hurricane Helene in North Carolina. Biffle, who was previously named one of the sport’s 75 greatest drivers, also helped save the life of a man who was stranded in the mountains at the bottom of a steep canyon.

Biffle and other rescuers were able to provide the man with much-needed food and medicine before continuing to provide aid to others in the area.
