Basically whenever we hear from former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III these days, it’s because he said something ridiculous on social media and is getting clowned on for it. 2026 appears to be no different, as RGIII fired off a take about Drake Maye that’s being described as “propaganda.”

In the playoffs so far, New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye has thrown 533 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions INT, while also committing six fumbles (3 lost). In the AFC Championship game, Maye threw for just 86 yards and had a 47.6 completion percentage.

By all accounts, while Maye put together an MVP-caliber performance in the regular season — albeit against the easiest schedule in the NFL — he’s been average-at-best in the postseason.

NFL fans are fed up with Robert Griffin III following his latest contrarian analysis of New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye

RGII, however, has zagged where everyone else has zigged and tried to big-up Maye’s postseason play.

“Drake Maye faced the toughest path to the Super Bowl in NFL Playoff History. No QB has ever beat 3 Top 5 defenses to get to the Super Bowl.Until Drake Maye. Chargers were #5 DefenseTexans were #1 DefenseBroncos were #2 Defense. PUT SOME RESPECT on Drake Maye’s name,” Griffin tweeted.

Some NFL fans even accused the former Heisman trophy winner of rage baiting and engagement farming in order to cut a paycheck from Twitter.

“Former professional athlete having to farm for engagement to earn a pay check,” tweeted one NFL fan.

“If Twitter canceled payouts for tweets with proven misinformation you’d see less of this. He tweeting s— like this for money,” a second added.
