When speaking to the media after losing to the Denver Broncos at home — and not scoring a touchdown in the process — New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh mentioned that the offensive line may be struggling with Aaron Rodgers’ pre-snap cadence.

“We gotta figure it [pre-snap penalties] out, whether or not we’re good enough… or ready to handle all of the cadence. Cadence had not been an issue all camp… Obviously, today took a major step back,” Saleh said.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, however — after a few days of reporting on Rodgers seemingly bristling at Saleh’s assessment — Saleh changed his tune, instead saying that the perception there’s a cadence issue was “created.”

“There is no cadence issue. There never was a cadence issue. It was created,” Saleh told reporters before Gang Green heads off to London for a Week 5 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.

Whatever the Jets’ offensive issues are, they better hope they have them sorted out by the weekend, or else things could get ugly when they take on the undefeated Minnesota Vikings in London on Sunday.

Through the first four games of the season, Rodgers has completed 64.1% of his passes for 849 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception.

Star wide receiver Garrett Wilson has also had a difficult start to the season, catching 20 passes for 191 yards and just one touchdown in the first month of the season.

Running back Breece Hall, who also had big expectations heading into the season, finds himself in a similar situation as his quarterback and #1 pass catcher, as he has just 56 carries for 174 yards and two touchdowns thus far.
