The New York Jets fired head coach Robert Saleh just five games amid a 2-3 start to the 2024 season. Many believed QB Aaron Rodgers had a hand in that decision.

Did the franchise choose their veteran quarterback over the fourth-year coach? Some said so!

Rumors flew after the initial decision went public, made worse by past comments made by the New York signal caller.

“Yes,” Rodgers responded after being asked if he’d ever have a head coach fired. Reports later claimed that trouble had been brewing in the player-coach relationship months before the dismissal.

With that being said, Aaron Rodgers denied having any input in the firing, and teammates backed him up.

Now, the Jets have moved on to life after Robert Saleh. But what’s next for the former head coach?

His most recent visit might provide some insight.

Robert Saleh was in Green Bay this week.

He attended Packers practice on Wednesday with another of Rodgers former head coaches, Matt LaFleur.

LaFleur and Saleh’s friendship goes back a ways. They were graduate assistants together at Central Michigan. They later teamed up on staff for the Houston Texans. LaFleur was Saleh’s best man in his wedding.

The relationship is more than professional – it’s personal!

So, it’s no surprise to see Saleh visiting an old friend. Still, social media is trying to figure out if there’s a deeper meaning.

Could they soon be working together in Green Bay? Speculation is building!

If Saleh was looking to get back into coaching, it’s a logical landing spot. Then again, it seems quick given that recent firing came less than a month ago.

LaFleur will likely clarify on Saleh’s presence after the practice session wraps up.
